Dennis was born in Dallas and grew up in Grand Prairie, TX. In 1971, he became an Intelligence Specialist in the Texas Air National Guard for six years achieving the rank of Staff Sgt. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology & Theology from Dallas Baptist University in 1977. He served as a Baptist minister in Seattle and Dallas until he received a Master of Science Degree in Counseling & Guidance from Texas A&M Commerce in 1988. In 1991, Dennis became a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas and in 2016 achieved his Master Addictions Counselor Certification.
He has worked in psychiatric hospitals and two medical hospitals in geriatric psych units. Dennis has created and presented over 75 continuing education programs to hospital social workers, nurses and counselors over the last 15 years. He has experience working with executive level employee assistance programs, men’s issues, marriage and family counseling, anger issues, incest recovery and addictions.
Dennis’ focus at Nextgen is on helping clients with anxiety, depression, chronic pain, grief and loss, PTSD and adjustment to personal limitations due to injuries or accidents. Dennis loves people and enjoys helping them through difficult times.
